Description

A flavorful and quick dish featuring tender beef strips tossed in sweet chili sauce and fresh vegetables, perfect for weeknights or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 300g beef strips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Rice or noodles for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger; stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch (if using).
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables, stirring well to coat.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra tenderness, marinate the beef strips in some sweet chili sauce for a couple of hours before cooking. Adjust spiciness by modifying the amount of sweet chili sauce.
