Description
A delightful and soft bread perfect for any meal, featuring a fluffy texture and slightly sweet flavor.
Ingredients
- 500 g bread flour (3¾ cup)
- 40 g sugar (3 tbsp)
- 1½ tsps instant yeast
- 225 g cold water (a little bit less than 1 cup)
- 115 g cold milk (½ cup)
- 9 g sea salt (1½ tsp)
- 25 g unsalted butter (1¾ tbsp)
- Butter for coating the pan and brushing the bread
- Flour for coating the pan
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix these dry ingredients well.
- Add the cold water and cold milk to the mixture. Stir until you form a loose dough.
- Sprinkle the sea salt over the top of the dough. Add the unsalted butter and mix until everything is combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Punch down the risen dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a buttered bread pan. Cover it again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Once it has risen, brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use cold ingredients for better dough control. Be patient during rising for improved texture.
