Description

A delightful and soft bread perfect for any meal, featuring a fluffy texture and slightly sweet flavor.

Ingredients

  • 500 g bread flour (3¾ cup)
  • 40 g sugar (3 tbsp)
  • tsps instant yeast
  • 225 g cold water (a little bit less than 1 cup)
  • 115 g cold milk (½ cup)
  • 9 g sea salt (1½ tsp)
  • 25 g unsalted butter (1¾ tbsp)
  • Butter for coating the pan and brushing the bread
  • Flour for coating the pan

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  2. Add the cold water and cold milk to the mixture. Stir until you form a loose dough.
  3. Sprinkle the sea salt over the top of the dough. Add the unsalted butter and mix until everything is combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  7. Punch down the risen dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf.
  8. Place the loaf in a buttered bread pan. Cover it again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Once it has risen, brush the top with melted butter.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use cold ingredients for better dough control. Be patient during rising for improved texture.
