Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
- Gradually add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Score the top with a knife and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
For a crustier bread, place a pan of water in the oven while it bakes. You can also add herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
