A comfort food classic featuring seasoned ground beef patties smothered in rich, savory gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into oval patties.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms; sauté until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spoon the gravy over them, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
Notes
Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables. Consider adding herbs for more flavor.
