Description

A comfort food classic featuring seasoned ground beef patties smothered in rich, savory gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into oval patties.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms; sauté until softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over onions and mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, spoon the gravy over them, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables. Consider adding herbs for more flavor.
