Description
Enjoy fresh, homemade crusty bread with minimal effort using a Dutch oven.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and yeast.
- Add the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Preheat your Dutch oven in the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- While the Dutch oven is heating, turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and shape it into a ball.
- Once the Dutch oven is hot, carefully remove it and place the dough inside. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or olive oil; can be used for sandwiches or dipping.
