A simple recipe for Homemade Ciabatta Bread with a crispy crust and soft, airy interior, perfect for sandwiches or bruschetta.
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
- Gradually add the water, mixing until a wet, sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours, or until it has doubled in size and is bubbly.
- Gently turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
- Divide the dough into two pieces and shape each piece into a loaf.
- Transfer the loaves to a floured baking sheet and let them rise for another 30-60 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake the loaves for about 25-30 minutes, or until they have a golden crust and sound hollow when tapped.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
To store, wrap the cooled bread in parchment paper or place it in a paper bag to keep it fresh.
