Description

A simple recipe for Homemade Ciabatta Bread with a crispy crust and soft, airy interior, perfect for sandwiches or bruschetta.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the water, mixing until a wet, sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours, or until it has doubled in size and is bubbly.
  4. Gently turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
  5. Divide the dough into two pieces and shape each piece into a loaf.
  6. Transfer the loaves to a floured baking sheet and let them rise for another 30-60 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  8. Bake the loaves for about 25-30 minutes, or until they have a golden crust and sound hollow when tapped.
  9. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

To store, wrap the cooled bread in parchment paper or place it in a paper bag to keep it fresh.
