Description
A delicious and easy one-pot meal combining hearty ground beef with tender orzo pasta, packed with flavor from garlic, onion, and spices. Perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, until they are softened.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes until it’s nicely browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the broth and add the rinsed orzo pasta. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender, stirring halfway through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
Notes
Serve warm with extra grated Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs. Pairs well with a simple salad or crusty bread.
