Description

A delicious and easy one-pot meal combining hearty ground beef with tender orzo pasta, packed with flavor from garlic, onion, and spices. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, until they are softened.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes until it’s nicely browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the broth and add the rinsed orzo pasta. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender, stirring halfway through.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

Notes

Serve warm with extra grated Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs. Pairs well with a simple salad or crusty bread.
