A simple and fluffy milk bread recipe perfect for sandwiches, toast, or simply enjoying with butter.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the melted butter and salt to the mixture.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
- Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Make sure the milk is warm but not hot to protect the yeast. You can add herbs or spices for extra flavor.
