Description

A simple and fluffy milk bread recipe perfect for sandwiches, toast, or simply enjoying with butter.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the melted butter and salt to the mixture.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  10. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Make sure the milk is warm but not hot to protect the yeast. You can add herbs or spices for extra flavor.
