Description
A rich and flavorful snack or meal featuring seasoned beef and melty cheese over crispy tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion (diced)
- 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 1.5 cups sharp cheddar (shredded)
- 1.5 cups mozzarella (shredded)
- Tortilla chips
- Pickled jalapeno (for garnish)
- Cilantro (for garnish)
- 1.5 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1/2 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Shred cheese and set it aside for later use.
- In a pan over medium heat, drizzle a bit of oil and add the diced onions. Sauté for about 30 seconds before adding minced garlic. Continue cooking for another minute.
- Add the ground beef to the pan. Break up any clumps. Once it’s halfway cooked, sprinkle in all the seasonings except for the light soy sauce and sugar. Stir everything until well combined.
- Once the ground beef is fully cooked, season it with the light soy sauce and sugar, and stir well.
- (Optional) Take the pan off the heat and push the ground beef to one side. Tilt the pan so the grease collects on the other side and discard it.
- Turn the heat down to medium-low, and add the shredded cheese. Cover the pan with a lid and let it sit for a few minutes until all the cheese is melted. Remove the lid and turn off the heat.
- On a serving plate, place the tortilla chips. Gently slide or add the cheesy ground beef from the pan on top of the chips. Garnish with pickled jalapenos and fresh cilantro. Enjoy!

For extra flavor, use a mix of your favorite cheeses and customize toppings according to preference.
