Description

Delightful flaky pastries that are soft on the inside, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Roll the dough out into a rectangle, then cut it into triangles.
  7. Roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip to form the croissant shape.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Enjoy your fresh croissant rolls!
