Description

A unique and tasty dish combining creamy custard with the sweet flavor of crab, perfect for seafood lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh crab meat
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons sugar (for caramelizing)
  • Chives (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice.
  3. Gently fold in the crab meat.
  4. Pour the mixture into ramekins and place them in a baking dish. Fill the baking dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  7. Once cooled, sprinkle sugar on top of each custard.
  8. Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
  9. Garnish with chopped chives and serve.

Notes

Use fresh crab meat for the best taste. Can use canned or frozen crab if necessary.
