A unique and tasty dish combining creamy custard with the sweet flavor of crab, perfect for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh crab meat
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 4 tablespoons sugar (for caramelizing)
- Chives (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice.
- Gently fold in the crab meat.
- Pour the mixture into ramekins and place them in a baking dish. Fill the baking dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Once cooled, sprinkle sugar on top of each custard.
- Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped chives and serve.
Notes
Use fresh crab meat for the best taste. Can use canned or frozen crab if necessary.
