Delicious homemade cookies that are simple to make and filled with sweetness.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir until combined.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
These cookies are best enjoyed warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for up to three months.
