Description

Delicious and satisfying Italian grinder sandwiches loaded with deli meats and cheeses, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian sub rolls
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the Italian sub rolls in half lengthwise, but don’t cut all the way through; keep them connected at the bottom.
  3. Place the rolls on a baking sheet, cut side up, without overcrowding.
  4. In a small bowl, melt the unsalted butter in the microwave or on the stove.
  5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the melted butter.
  6. Stir well until the seasonings mix completely with the butter.
  7. Brush the seasoned butter generously over the cut sides of the rolls.
  8. Layer the salami on the bottom half of each sandwich, spreading it out evenly.
  9. Follow with a layer of ham, covering the salami.
  10. Add a layer of pepperoni over the ham, ensuring it covers the entire sandwich.
  11. Put mozzarella cheese on top of the pepperoni, spreading it evenly.
  12. Follow with provolone cheese, ensuring it covers all of the previous layers.
  13. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the provolone.
  14. Add sliced roasted red peppers, black olives, and banana peppers evenly on top.
  15. Place a few fresh basil leaves over the layers for added flavor.
  16. Bake the sandwiches in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is slightly crispy.
  17. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute.
  18. Carefully cut the sandwiches into individual portions using a serrated knife.
  19. Enjoy the sandwiches warm!

Notes

Feel free to customize the meats and cheeses to your liking; adding more vegetables can enhance flavor and crunch.
