Description

A quick and easy recipe for soft, warm bread made in an air fryer, resulting in a delicious crust.

Ingredients

  • 3¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups buttermilk (or milk + 2 tbsp lemon juice, curdled for 5 mins)

Instructions

  1. Stir the flour and baking soda together in a bowl. Add the buttermilk and mix until the dough is shaggy. Be careful not to overmix!
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface. Fold the dough gently 4-5 times and shape it into a round loaf.
  3. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper, making sure to cut a sling for easy lifting. Place the loaf inside.
  4. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes. Avoid peeking too early! The bread is ready when it’s golden and makes a hollow sound when tapped. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or jam. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for about a week.
